Rising star Sevyn Streeter takes on one of R&B’s most beloved angels.
Sevyn performed an acoustics version of the late Aaliyah hit, “Come Over” for The Warner Sound.
Covering a song by Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash in the Bahamas in 2001, can be a difficult task considering that her sound was so unique that no one dared to attempt to try. But the 27-year-old proved that she was ready for the task. She is also influenced by the late singer, paying a visit to Aaliyah’s high school and penned an open letter of tribute.
We have to be honest, Sevyn does a very great job. We appreciate this.
